• I view therapy as a collaborative and active process—one that is co-created between therapist and client. Together, we build a foundation that supports meaningful growth, healing, and ongoing development. My approach is engaged and tailored, with a focus on fostering healthy and adaptive functioning, cognitive and emotional flexibility, and a deeper sense of fulfillment. Central to this work is the development of self-awareness alongside practical, sustainable skills.

My work is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy, with an emphasis on insight, self-understanding, and lasting change. I integrate additional evidence-based approaches—including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed interventions—drawing from each in a way that is thoughtful and individualized. This integrative approach supports not only symptom relief, but also deeper healing, increased self-awareness, and an expanded capacity for meaningful connection.

I also hold a strong appreciation for the connection between mind and body, and consider how these systems influence one another in each person’s experience. When desired, I incorporate a holistic perspective that includes lifestyle-based approaches to emotional well-being, recognizing the role of daily patterns in both mental and physical health.

At the core of my work is authenticity. I show up as a real and engaged presence in the therapeutic relationship, bringing curiosity, attunement, and lived experience into the work. I believe that meaningful change happens not only through insight and skill-building, but through genuine human connection—creating space for you to access your inner voice, strengthen your sense of self, and live with greater integrity, meaning, and fulfillment. This often includes exploring how early life experiences continue to shape your emotional world, relationships, and sense of self.

  • Danielle F. Robillard, Psy.D., DipACL

I am a licensed psychologist with a Doctoral and Master’s degree in Psychology from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in French Literature from Colgate University. My clinical training took place across a range of urban settings—including academic institutions, residential centers, and medical centers—where I worked with children, adolescents, adults, parents, families, students, and faculty. During this time, I provided psychotherapy, consultation, cognitive and academic assessments, and crisis evaluations. A central focus of my pre-doctoral internship was the treatment of childhood and multigenerational trauma.

I completed my postdoctoral training at the University of Vermont Medical Center (formerly Fletcher Allen Health Care) in Burlington, Vermont, and remained on staff as a psychologist in the Department of Psychological Services for three years. In this setting, I worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families, and collaborated closely with medical teams to support individuals coping with acute and chronic illness, including pediatric oncology. My work focused on anxiety, mood disorders, grief and loss, trauma, attachment-related challenges, and the emotional impact of medical illness.

In 2011, I transitioned into solo private practice in Burlington, Vermont. Since then, my work has centered on helping individuals and families navigate anxiety, OCD, depression, grief, trauma, attachment concerns, chronic illness, and life transitions. I work with older adolescents, college students, and adults across the lifespan.

I am board certified in Lifestyle Medicine, which allows me to thoughtfully integrate evidence-based lifestyle approaches into my work when it is meaningful for each person—supporting not only mental health, but overall well-being.

Over time, my clinical interests have continued to evolve. I have developed a particular interest in couples therapy, as well as working with women in transition—supporting individuals as they navigate shifts in identity, relationships, body, and life stage, and move toward a life that feels more authentic, meaningful, and aligned.
